As many of you may know, Cape Town is notorious for it’s famous wine farms, in particular Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.
Franschhoek is one of my favourite areas to go to as it’s known for it’s beautiful scenery, wine and delicious food.
I have been to Vrede en Lust many times for wine tasting, however my family and I recently took our friend’s from America to Vrede en Lust’s restaurant called Lust Bistro & Bakery for lunch. All I can say is WOW! The food is delicious and the service was excellent… I can’t believe this was the first time I’d been there for lunch.
I was torn between having the Cauliflower-gnocchi served in a roasted butternut with gorgonzola cream and toasted pumpkin seeds, or a pizza, but when the waitress began to explain how you can build your own pizza, that is when I made up my mind… but I’ll definitely be back to try the Gnocchi!
The Lust Bistro & Bakery have delicious Italian food however they also have lovely wraps, seafood, salads etc.
Salted Roasted Beetroot and Barley Salad R84/R120
Full portion – R120.00
Free-Range Chicken and Pancetta Caesar salad R84/R120
Half Portion -R84.00
And lets not forget the mouth watering desserts – a Belgian Chocolate Brownie, Crème Brûlèe and a delicious Lustsy Ice Cream Sundae , which I chose.
A salted caramel, honey-comb ice cream, brown-sugar-meringue and berries.
This is most definitely a place to add to your list – whether you do the wine tasting or lunch or even BOTH… I’d definitely recommend both 😉
